I remember that RFID trolley system too. I guess it still hasn't made it here.</description>

Whatever happened to the RFID system where you just roll your trolley through some scanners and it picks up everything in there? I remember hearing about that a couple of years ago.

Also in supermarket news, have you heard that U.S. retail giant Costco is coming to Aus? They've just figured out that Woolies and Coles are cornering 70% of the market here and they want a piece. Apparently Costco stores are "hypermarkets" three times the size of your average Bunnings. The good sold there range from white goods to apparel, to fruit and veg.

It operates through the "warehouse club" system, where you pay a yearly membership fee to the store (something like $50) and you get massive discounts (70%) when shopping there (most of the stock is packaged in bulk).

The first one is opening up at Docklands. No date as of yet.
